Welcome to Sue Martin Fine Art
I'm an intuitive experimental artist who finds inspiration in nature for works that blend perception with the exploration of formal elements of design. Exaggerating color, riffing on fugal rhythms, simplifying shapes, and layering textures are some of the things that excite my art practice. This painting was painted en plein air at Dead Ox Farm, near Baker City, OR. I'm pleased that it won an award in the Carnegie Art Center plein air competition. This and other paintings from the event are hanging through November at several different galleries in Baker City
